Weekly Menu 8/18-8/24

This past weekend…I’m surprised I’m still standing it was so busy. A full weekend of birthday excitement. Eden turned 6 yrs old on Friday and she spent the day eating her favorite lunch, going to out to ice cream with her b-day twin, her Boppy (my mother in love), picking books out at the library, eating pizza for dinner, and settling down with Rio 2 with the family with a huge bowl of popcorn. Saturday morning, Josh whisked her away to a birthday breakfast, just the two of them and then home to get ready for her birthday party/bbq/sleepover. Sunday, we had church and after church, I went through all of our homeschooling supplies to make a new list of what we needed and was able to get everything at the store before heading out to Josh’s parents house to celebrate his mom’s birthday.

It was quite the weekend. I happen to love birthdays. Lot’s of laughter. Lot’s of cake. Lot’s of celebrating another year of a person’s life. What could be better than that?

Eden’s festivities are ending quite yet though. Instead of getting Eden a bunch of gifts, we got her a few small things (puzzle, infinity scarf, and a My Little Pony Build a Bear Costume)-her big gift from us is an afternoon at Oaks Park (our local amusement park) and have dinner out afterwards and she is thrilled about it. :) Me too-I love rides!

Since we are running low on a lot of pantry staples, because we haven’t made it to Cosco in the last few weeks, this week’s meals are made up of what’s on hand and in the freezer. :)
