Tuesday’s Tidings for June 30, 2015

Tuesday's Tidings

Hers

1. I finally finished A Tale of Two Cities over the weekend and it was amazing! Well worth all the time I spent trying to get into it. I’ve now started reading Moby Dick, another book on my Goodreads list. So far, I’m really enjoying it. Have you read it? What did you think?

2. Have you guys seen this trailer for the movie Faith of Our Fathers? It looks really good and I recognize a lot of the actors in it.

3. National Geographic shared these adorable photos of this baby chameleon that was just born, but doesn’t realize he’s been born. It is a pretty incredible thing to see.

4. Have you all been taking advantage of all the really good Shutterfly offers lately? They’ve had so many freebies. Over Father’s Day weekend, I got the free 16×20 photo and then last weekend I ordered some Thank You cards. Seriously, if you don’t order your prints through them, you really should. They are a company that is very good to their customers.

His

1. For those of you who didn’t know, Lifehacker has a food-focused blog called Skillet that serves up some pretty nifty ideas about cuisine. On Thursday, they shared up an excellent guide to packing picnics that won’t be messes when you actually want to eat them. Quite brilliant!

2. I am seriously snacky person at work. In the morning, I snack on string cheese. In the early afternoon, carrots and hummus. In the late afternoon, an apple. And these are the healthy things that replaced my old (not so healthy) snacktime buddies – peanut M&M’s, chips, and actual peanuts (healthy, but not when you’re just sitting at a desk all day…)! The Daily Meal has some suggestions on healthy snacks that you can make ahead of time and eat at your desk with minimal mess. I like. Must try.

3. So, the pistols that Napoleon gave to his son (the King of Rome) in 1814, the last time he ever saw him, are going up for sale. Anyone have a cool million I can borrow?

4. I found my Coca-Cola cans! Ha, just kidding. They obviously belong to Bobby Flay…
